The major Twitter Delitter features are as follows...
Twitter Delitter provides a large selection of filters that can be applied to your whole tweet history, such has displaying tweets from a certain Twitter client, tweets from certain years, and much more.
A full Regular Expression text search engine is available to search through tweets, showing only those that you are interested in.
Tweets can be selected and added to the Queue for deletion whenever you're ready; this queue is remembered between launches of Twitter Delitter so you can clean-up your feed at your own pace. Once you are ready for Twitter Delitter to remove those tweets from your live account, simply click on the delete button within the Queue window; Twitter Delitter will then delete all of the queued tweets while you work on something else or are away from the computer - there is no need to be present during the process.
There are various rule sets that can be run against your tweets to determine if any of them could be considered "problematic" for certain situations, such as to an employer if you're applying for a job.
The scoring system within Twitter Delitter considers various aspects of a tweet and uses the power and flexibility of regular expressions, where appropriate, to score a tweet using a numerical value to see to what extent a tweet can thought of as "violating" a cetain specific set of rules (eg. a Rule Set in TD terminology). Using this system, you can then choose to review and optionally deleting any such tweets from your live Twitter feed.
An editor for modifyfing and creating Rule Sets is included within Twitter Delitter itself.
The general distribution of Twitter Delitter comes with rule sets that cover Alcohol
, Drugs
,
Racism
, Swearing
, and Violence
.
The so-called "eBook" feature allows Twitter Delitter to generate tweets based on your past tweets using a process called Markov Chain generation. These tweets can be generated and then previewed, and optionally posted to your live Twitter feed. The generator also allows you to modify generated tweets or even post tweets that you have manually written yourself.
